For almost five years, the Minskoff Theatre in Broadway has served as second home for the box office hit musical, The Lion King, after spending its first nine years in Broadway at the New Amsterdam Theatre. Today, the stage adaptation of the 1994 Disney film about a lion’s transition from a carefree, spontaneous and slightly mischievous cub to rightful heir to the throne of the animal kingdom known as Pride Rock, and the struggles that has befallen him which made him both coward and brave, continues to run in its Broadway home six days a week, with even two show times every Saturday.
